DJ Frank the Greek, always a club favorite, spins the latest top 40 dance music and spices it up with the latest European, Latin, & Middle Eastern flavors.  He is considered one of Connecticut's premiere DJs and is a definite crowd pleaser and floor filler.

DJ Frank the Greek (real name Fotios) was born in the Macedonian part of Greece, Thessaloniki.  At the age of four, while most children were playing with toys, Foti collected and played with records.  Too young yet to read, but by looking at the record company labels, he was able to distinguish between the different artists and songs.  Greek superstar singer "Mareinella," (the Greek equivalent to Barbara Streisand), a neighbor of Foti's family at the time, was amazed by his skill, and called him a child prodigy.

After moving with his family to the United States, Foti religiously followed the music scene.   In his teenage years, he was a regular fixture at "Studio 54," mingling with some of the hottest celebrities, meeting Andy Warhol, and even dancing with Nureyev.    Foti was also seen hanging out at Connecticut local club hot spots with his best friend at the time, celebrity photographer of the stars, David LaChapelle.    Frequenting a local club with friends one night, Foti got his first DJ brake at the age of 18.  The house DJ had gotten severely ill towards the middle of the night, and could no longer spin.  When the music stopped, Foti approached the owner of the club and volunteered to DJ.   Desperate to keep the party going, the club owner  agreed and was amazed with the crowds positive reaction to Foti's talent.  Foti was hired on the spot, thus, DJ Frank the Greek was born.

In the 90's, Frank the Greek was seen bar hopping with Oscar winning actor, singer, song writer, Paul Jabara.   Paul Jabara most famously known for writing the following songs: "Last Dance," "Enough Is Enough," and "It's Raining Men" (co-written with Paul Shaffer).

For decades, Frank the Greek has performed at some of the most popular clubs in Connecticut, New York, and Miami.  Due to a mutual friend of Victor T's, Frank the Greek has even performed one night at "Security Maximum" in Montreal Canada, one night at "Le Bar" in Paris, France, and two nights in "Angels," and "Crisco" in Ibiza Spain.

This past decade in Connecticut,  Frank the Greek has graced the turn tables of:  The Cedar Brook Cafe, The Brown Stone, 168 York Street, Triangles Cafe, Icon of Danbury, Simbas, Mojitos, and Appeal.  In addition, his music was heard at the Prime Time in New York.

In 2004, Frank the Greek was the first DJ in CT to introduce "Live DVD Music Video” mixing, becoming one of Connecticut’s premiere VDJ’s.

Frank the Greek was recently asked why he now prefers the smaller clubs as opposed to his previous larger venues.  His response was, "First of all, huge clubs are becoming a thing of the past.  Second of all, I feel smaller clubs are more of a challenge for me.  In large stadium size clubs, people will dance to virtually anything.  I enjoy the interaction you can have with people in smaller clubs.  Today, it's not just about popping on music, but it's also about being personable.  Finding out what people that particular night are into is important to me... every night is different...it's about switching the music to create a natural flow.  If I can keep the floor packed until closing time, I know I've succeeded for that night.  For me, it feels like pure magic!"

Frank the Greek is currently one of the resident DJ's at Triangle’s Cafe in Danbury, CT.
